Qualified Assets

This article outlines the data provided to the System Operator via the 'Qualified Assets' file. This article was last updated in February 2022 and refers to version 3.01 of Qualifying Assets which can be downloaded by System Operators from their accounts. 

This file has five tabs. The first two provide qualifying asset data, the next two provides a mechanism by which the System Operator can make a qualifying asset be disqualified or an asset that's not currently qualifying to be qualified, the final tab provides flex provider contact information.

Qualifying Assets - Operational

This tab contains all the data points Piclo holds against assets for operational and in development assets that are automatically qualifying for any competition advertised via a System Operator account. Check the criteria by which the automatic qualifying is done under 'Automatic technical qualification' in the Qualification process.

Title Description  
Competition ID The ID given by Piclo of the competition this asset is qualifying for.  
Competition Ref The Ref given by the SO of the competition this asset is qualifying for.  
Competition Name The Name given by the SO of the competition this asset is qualifying for.  
DPS Reference The Ref of the DPS this competition is connected to (if applicable).  
Asset ID The ID given by Piclo of the asset that is qualifying.  
Flex Provider ID The ID given by Piclo of the Flex Provider that manages this asset.  
Competition Status The status of the competition in question, open or closed etc.  
Operational Date The date the asset will become (if planned) or did become operational.  
Connection Status The status of the connection agreement of the asset.  
Asset Category The category of the asset e.g. 'Thermal' or 'Renewable'.  
Asset Type The type of the asset which is the detail of what kind of asset this is e.g. 'Gas CHP' or 'Battery'.      
Asset Status Describes what status this asset is in e.g. 'Planned' or 'Operational'.  
Active Export Capacity (MW) The capacity this asset has for Active Power provision to the grid.  
Active Import Capacity (MW) The capacity this asset has for Active Power provision from the grid.  
Reactive Export Capacity (MVAr) The capacity this asset has for Reactive Power provision to the grid.  
Reactive Import Capacity (MVAr) The capacity this asset has for Reactive Power provision from the grid.  
Max Import Capacity (MVA) The max capacity that can be imported from the grid at the point of connection.  
Max Export Capacity (MVA) The max capacity that can be exported to the grid at the point of connection.  
Voltage Level The voltage level at the point of connection to the network.  
Response Time The minimum time required for the asset to respond to a utilisation message.  
Max Runtime Maximum length of time that the asset can sustain capacity.  
Min Runtime Minimum length of time required to dispatch the asset.  
Recovery Time The time required by the asset to recover from one instruction until the next instruction can be actioned (assuming full utilisation).  
Metering Point Describes where the asset is metered. 'Terminals' means behind the meter and 'Boundary' means at network connection.  
Meter Interval The most granular metering frequency available.     
Supplier Name of the energy supplier for the asset.  
Export Meter ID The unique identification of the meter associated with the asset's energy export to the network  
Import Meter ID The unique identification of the meter associated with the asset's energy import from the network  
Address The asset address.   
Postcode The assets postcode. A Flex Provider may choose to use latitude/longitude instead.  
Country Code Used to provide the approximate location.  
Qualification Overridden? Describes if an asset's qualification status has been changed from it's original position.  
Override Reason If an asset is disqualified, there will be a reason associated.  
Qualified History A short audit trail of the last 5 competitions the asset qualified for.  
Override History A short audit trail of the last 5 competitions the asset had an override set (either qualifying, or disqualifying).   
     

Qualifying Assets - Planned

This tab contains all the data points Piclo holds against assets for planned assets that are automatically qualifying for any competition advertised via a System Operator account. Check the criteria by which the automatic qualifying is done under 'Automatic technical qualification' in the Qualification process.


Qualification Overrides 
On this third tab, the System Operator can manually override an asset that has failed a technical assessment to disqualify it, or positively override an asset that has not been automatically qualified so that its status is updated to qualifying. 
Title Description  
Asset ID The ID of the asset associated with this update.  
Competition Ref  The unique competition reference provided by the System Operator to describe the competition this asset should be associated with.  
Override Status  'Pass' to describe an asset that wasn't qualifying that should qualify. 
'Fail' to describe an asset that was qualifying that should not qualify.
 
Override Reason  Only required for 'Fail' status assets - from a pre-determined list which can be found in the file Readme: Incompatible location, Submission deadline missed, Submission incomplete, Withdrawn, Service Requirements not met,  

   

Flex Provider Info

This tab provides high-level information on a Flex Provider in case it is required for qualification.
