December 2023: Release summary
We're delighted to share the latest updates and enhancements on Piclo. Below is a summary of the recent changes:
Improving FSP Experience:
Clearer deadlines and competition phases
Improved clarity on competition types and deadlines related to qualification and bidding. When you open a competition on the map, the top panel now states clear dates for qualification and bidding windows.
Improved baseline upload experience
For markets that include settlement via Piclo, FSPs are prompted to upload baseline data after bidding and provides a customised template to upload metering data via file or upload via API based on the MPANs associated to the assets included in the bids.
The template looks as follows by listing the Metering IDs and settlement periods / service windows during which the assets are delivering capacity. Learn more about settlement (LINK).
Automated dispatch acceptance
FSPs integrated with the Piclo API can now accept dispatch instructions via API.
Long term dispatches
Piclo can now facilitate dispatches for longer-term competitions and the dispatch API can be used for stop instructions and updating instructions.

Decide bids based on asset type
Type of asset is now included in bid information on the bid decisioning page to encourage greener assets participating in competitions.
Customisable Technical Qualification
System Operators can now define asset criteria for technical qualification such as MPAN required, minimum run time, voltage and network check via a list of MPANs etc. Learn more about technical qualification
Enhanced Bid Decisioning
System Operators now see a graphical representation of bid prices per service window, providing valuable insights for market clearing decisions.
- Improved Dispatch Schedule
Efficiently filter, order, and search dispatch instructions and see upcoming dispatches in a 48h timeline. Learn more about dispatch schedule
- Granular Permissions for Enhanced Account Management
New granular permissions to accommodate different teams performing actions such as limiting who can create new competitions, place bids and who can decision bids. Learn more about permissions
